Convene Studio's main stage and breakout sessions require microphone and camera permissions to function. The process will vary based on the device and browser. This document outlines the basic steps to grant permissions.
If you’re unable to see or use your mic or camera, first confirm your browser is up to date.

When you join a breakout session for the first time, you may need to grant your browser permission to your microphone and camera. When you see the popup, click "Allow" to grant permission.
If you blocked permissions or aren't sure, you can always confirm permissions via the 🔒 to the left of the URL.
You will need to refresh the page if you change your camera or microphone permissions.
Windows

Mac Safari
When you join a breakout session for the first time, you may need to grant your browser permission to your microphone and camera. When you see the popup, click "Allow" to grant permission.
If you deny permissions or you aren't sure, you can always confirm permissions via Safari Preferences. Depending on your permissions, you may be able to refresh.
Select Websites along the top of the window and scroll down the list until you see Camera and Microphone. Select "Ask" or "Allow." You may need to refresh the page to update your camera or microphone preferences.
iOS Safari
Granting iOS Safari permissions is very similar to Mac Safari. When you see the popup, click "Allow" to grant permission. You can always confirm permissions via Website Settings to the left of the URL. Depending on your permissions, you may be able to refresh.
Android Chrome
When you see the popup, click "Allow" to grant permission. You can always confirm permissions via Settings via the three dots to the right of the URL. Depending on your permissions, you may be able to refresh.
